Position Summary

Accion Venture Lab seeks a Summer Intern to support the team in positioning Accion Venture Lab as a leading investor in the inclusive finance space. The intern will work closely with the Head of Community on communications strategy and implementation for the flagship events of the year: CEO Forum and Fintech for Inclusion Global Summit (September 10-12, 2024) as well as supporting with social media, content coordination, data collection, and industry engagement. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in events marketing and communications and learn more about ecosystem community building, impact investing and inclusive finance. The targeted timing for this internship is from June until the end of August, 20 hours per week.

Position Responsibilities

    Events marketing:
    • Support on creating a PR and Social Media strategy & timeline for the Fintech for Inclusion Summit.
    • Management of the website and networking app of the conference.
    • Create slide decks for the CEO Forum and Fintech for Inclusion Summit.
    • Elaborate and set up post event feedback forms in Typeform.
    • Drafting communication emails with CEOs on the progress of the conference preparation.
    • Learning opportunity: Gain hands-on experience in shaping the content and the tech side of the conference as well as engage with CEOs from all around the world.
  • Social media:
    • Draft social media copies for the Accion Venture Lab's LinkedIn and X driving the engagement to the post.
    • Elaborate data collection and analytics mechanism on all the thought leadership pieces: # of views, reads, other forms of engagement, etc.
  • Team administration and data collection:
    • Updating the team weekly on new content/event opportunities that are coming up next.
    • Support meetings with team members and partners with notes, keeping track of follow-up items.
    • Learning opportunity: ability to join meetings with colleagues and partners around the world to gain insights into the strategic communication process and learn how to lead meetings and keep teams organized.

Position Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student looking for an internship in the investment fund communications.
  • Coursework experience in communications / marketing / events / social media / public relations required.
  • Previous experience or willingness to learn working with tools such as: Airtable, Typeform, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and research skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Interested in Accion Venture Lab's mission.
  • Ability to work remotely globally.
  • Interested in our mission and working globally.
