Machinist Rotor Cutting/Pairing-2nd shift

What you will do:

Set-up, and operate one or more machines but not limited to the listed machines to perform various operations in the manufacture of helical screw rotors.

Will train on 1st shift and move to 2nd shift after training is completed.

Starting rate is $28.35/hour plus an additional $1.50/hour shift premium when moved to 2nd shift.

How you will do it

  • Be proficient in planning and performing tasks using basic math and specially acquired rotor cutting skills, methods and practices.

  • Work to close tolerances as specified on drawings and other rotor cutting documents.

  • Use math involving Algebra, Trigonometry and decimals.

  • Use machinist tools and other precision measuring instruments.

  • Inspect all dimensions of first piece and make any indicated corrections of dimensions to set up before proceeding with production. Make necessary adjustments during operation to achieve requisite tolerance or dimensions.

  • Required to sharpen tools when necessary to achieve tolerance and produce acceptable rotor sets.

  • Lubricate and clean machines to keep free of grit, chips and grease.

  • Set-up, calibrate and operate various precision equipment as required to match rotors and determine conformance to drawing specifications.

  • Take measurement within defined limits of the parts.

  • Detect unusual conditions or material defects and report to proper supervision.

Qualifications - External

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Must have previous machining experience
