The Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Division, reporting to the CMO, is a highly dynamic and collaborative team that is dedicated to driving consistent, impactful brand experiences that promote action. Simply put, we are champions of good marketing. We want to inspire relationships, not transactions - with all our key audiences - from the American public to Corporate Partners, Large Public Institutions, Policymakers, and Employees.

The Advisor, Content Strategy and Management is responsible for collaborating across the organization and with external partners to bring Save the Children to life through the development of a clear, differentiated, & compelling content strategy that supports our go-to-market plan across campaigns and key moments. In this role, you will help shape the narrative for our core Communications Priorities driving consistent execution across touchpoints - including, but not limited to, Brand & Fundraising Communications, Events / Experiential, Employer Communications, and Supporter Engagement/Retention.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • Together with the Head of Brand Marketing, develop annual content strategy across a variety of communications objectives and topic areas to support agency goals. Includes oversight of US content strategy liaising with US Brand. Fundraising and Communications colleagues and the Global Creative Content Unit (GCCU) to ensure US content priorities/needs are met. Helps audit and prioritize against content creation needs that directly support our go-to-market strategy. (30%)
  • Collaborate with in-house creative team and external creative partners including writers, designers, and developers to deliver creative content solutions. Drafts and delivers creative briefs with clear objectives, channel needs and KPIs. Facilitates the delivery, dissemination and packaging of content. (30%)
  • Work closely with Creative, Channel Leads and Marketing Operations to develop creative standards/KPI's. Maintains repository of content performance and proactively shares insights/learnings to develop cross-functional best practices. (20%)
  • Help to optimize content operations between content producers (GCCU, brand, sponsorship) to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in gathering and leveraging content. (10%)
  • Represent SCUS in local and global meetings related to content/creative. Promotes a culture of curiosity and innovation as it relates to content types, channels and platforms. (10%)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience with a focus on content strategy, creative solutions and/or communications.
  • Proven ability to both set content marketing strategy and create content that generates measurable awareness and demand.
  • Experience managing a content roadmap and editorial calendar.
  • Extensive knowledge of online and offline marketing channels, their purpose and how to create content to achieve specific goals
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in fluid and fast paced environment
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with creative teams (in-house or agency)
  • Passion for storytelling and building connection through thought-provoking content
  • Analytically minded and able to translate research and insights into actionable outcomes.

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $84,150 - $94,050 base salary
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $76,500 - $85,500 base salary
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $68,850 - $76,950 base salary

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available ). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.
