Education and Development Specialist (Technical)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Education and Development Director, the Education and Development Specialist (Construction/Technical) will provide support in the ongoing creation, implementation, and development of Manhattan Construction Group's Technical Training course library and programs. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with leadership teams throughout our organization to develop and produce instructor-led and online learning courses, with special emphasis on technical content related to construction management. Partnering with regional leadership teams, the candidate will have the opportunity to plan and facilitate courses as needed.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop creative instructional materials that transform technical and professional information into engaging instructional materials.
  • Assist in all aspects of The Cornerstone online learning portal including course uploading, testing, reporting, events calendar, and scheduling.
  • Work closely with operational experts and other key stakeholders to determine effective technical training solutions and address development needs
  • Create, maintain, and facilitate engaging training assets, including presentations, microlearning, job aides, quizzes, and how-to processes
  • Assist in the development and management of any company-owned construction labs or workshop spaces.
  • Facilitate technical skills courses live in classroom or virtually via Microsoft Teams .
  • Manage projects for on-time, on-budget delivery with high-quality deliverables.
  • Other tasks reasonably aligned with the successful execution of all aspects of learning and talent development.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Skills and Abilities

  • Expertise in various facets of education and development including employee technical development, coaching, and organizational learning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and delivery skills with a proven ability to present to all levels of the organization and audience of any size in unique locations
  • Experience with Camtasia, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, or other e-learning authoring tools preferred
  • Flexible, creative, and thrives in a changing work environment
  • Works with an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • NCCER Training Certifications preferred (Technical)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education and Development, Construction Management, Instructional Design or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in vocational technical education, collegiate-level instruction, or corporate learning in a related field.
  • Field experience in construction management a plus (Technical)
  • Proficiency in Spanish language a plus
  • Must be able to travel at least 10% of time
