Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Academic Operations and working closely with the Department Chair and staff from across the college, the Academic Coordinator is responsible for providing a high level of administrative support to the College of Education and Human Development's Academic Department(s) with tasks related to academic initiatives and academic operations, academic scheduling, adjunct hiring, and departmental financial transactions and expenses. Core duties include managing the scheduling of departmental course offerings and recruiting and hiring adjunct instructors to meet programmatic needs; working independently and in collaboration with Department Chair to identify solutions to complex problems; working with the chair to analyze data for strategic planning initiatives; ensuring appropriate faculty and student support; and overseeing departmental and program expenses. The Department Coordinator serves as a primary in-person support person for faculty and students in the College of Education and Human Development. The individual in this position must have a thorough understanding of Department, College, and University procedures and must be able to communicate these procedures to faculty, staff, and students as needed. In-person work is required for this position. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least three years of directly related experience including some supervisory and project management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Background Checks & Clearances:

  • Handling of Purchasing Cards, Cash, Checks, Credit Cards, or manage financial transactions.
  • Access to Confidential or sensitive Personal Identifiable Information (PII)

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
