Job Summary:
As the Factory Warehouse Manager, the individual in this role will manage the entirety of day-to-day logistical operations for the plant as well as drive the performance of the department as far as receiving, shipping, internal flows, and external flows with 3PL. The Factory Warehouse Manager keeps safety first and fosters trust by avoiding surprises and delivering on promises. This individual will also guide the department into the next chapter of a growing facility by leading improvement and implementation projects throughout the Supply Chain department.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks
Oversees the logistics operations of the plant:
Keeps collaborators safe.
Responsible for the management of department Key Process Indicator tracking and follow up. Expected to define and suggest new KPI as they see fit to manage the business needs.
Follows and analyses KPI to stay on track.
Defines necessary workforce organizational changes to achieve objectives.
Writes, implements, and follows up on Standard Operating Procedures.
Oversees Warehouse Supervisors and their warehouses: Finished Goods/Packaging and Raw Materials with a wide variety of components and different type of storage (dry, cold, frozen...).
Oversees the Shipping/Receiving Specialist as well as the planning of receiving and shipping of packaging, raw materials, and Finished Goods regarding needs, docks, and people capacity.
Alerts everyone necessary of delays for both shipping and receiving.
Ensure controls are performed both at receiving and shipping.
Manages the Spotter/Yard Management Operations with a 3PL provider.
Is the owner of the equipment, maintenance and costs associated: building, docks, doors, racks, forklifts, and IT.
Manages transfer orders between outside warehouses and the Nampa plant.
Ensure the 3PL providers are following SOPs consistent with Materne's procedures.
Takes an active part in the development and execution of the Supply Chain Roadmap by identifying improvement opportunities and implementation.
Facilitates the collaboration between Business Units, DCs and plant.
Maintains order of rack allocation by product type for Packaging Material, Finished Goods and QA purposes of Held inventory and supplier non-compliance.
Oversees the inventory accuracy of all stocks:
Ensures physical and digital stocks are matching
Manages the entire cycle-count process in collaboration with the Inventory Specialist and Supervisors
Manages monthly, mid-year and end of year inventories
Manages the disposition and the communication regarding non-compliant materials and SLOB materials in a timely manner
Manages the traceability, FEFO and identification of the stocks
Oversees CHEP pallets inventory.
Ensures that the 5S of both warehouses and the yard are continuously improved and followed to facilitate warehouse management.
Ensure pull-list are shared with Material Handlers to facilitate daily operations.
Ensure put-aways are done efficiently and in a timely manner.
Manages the warehouse levels.
Secures projects implementation and continuous improvement:
Suggests projects to improve the department
Is a leader for those projects
Optimize storage, flow, people, doors, docks, wastes, and forklifts efficiency
Makes proposal regarding the organization to ensure the most efficient department
Pilots Key Process Indicators to improve the performance of the plant's logistics
Takes over a logistics specification project in interaction with R&D and Purchasing
Prepares the logistics operations for the projected growth of the plant:
Ensure the continuity of the department's operation while adding a first building and then a second building
Accounts for the volume growth
Prepares for lines implementation and racks implementation
Accounts for the possible implementation of AGV in the future
Is the process owner of the future Warehouse Management System
Ensure all functions of the department are covered:
Is able to replace his N-1
Is able to replace Supply Chain & Commercialization Manager
Manages the operational team:
Define workforce organization short, medium, and long term with Supply Chain & Commercialization Manager
Completes warehouse operational activities by scheduling, organizing, and assigning employees, following up on work results.
Builds a positive teamwork environment by recruiting, selecting, motivating, empowering, and training employees, as well maintaining training records.
Maintains warehouse staff job performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Drives the team ownership regarding quality of components and finished goods going through the warehouses.
Has constant communication with the team through team meetings and shares performance attainment
Integrates team in continuous improvement projects.
Quality and food safety
Ensure GMPs are being followed
Ensure PPE are properly used
Ensure the warehouses cleanliness and organization
Performs regular internal audits
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or equivalent is required.
3-5 years of experience as a supervisor with direct reports in Supply Chain or related.
Lean Six Sigma experience strongly preferred.
Strong Microsoft Office experience and in particular Microsoft Excel required.
CPIM preferred.
Experience with WMS software required.
Skills/Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, inspire, and ensure successful performance of team members.
Ability to develop work standards and processes that ensure employee, product, and equipment safety.
Ability to be the Supply Chain Champion of the facility by making change happen through analysis and implementation of optimization projects
Demonstrated ability to implement best practices in inventory control, equipment maintenance and reporting.
Strong ability to execute sound judgment in making decisions to meet business needs and meet customer requirements.
Ability to work well cross-functionally to deliver exceptional results.
Ability to work modified hours to support the team.
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Must be able work in normal office conditions, the manufacturing plant, the truck yard, and warehouses
Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day and be on their feet for extended periods of time.
