QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to forward think and identify problems or issues and develop solutions to resolve issues
Ability to work with students in groups and in individual settings
Demonstrate organizational and communication skills
Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior
Positive, high energy, and committed
Firm understanding of, and proven support for, education-based interscholastic activities/athletics
View success not just as winning, but as helping teams and its members reach defined goals
Experience in computer programming and a firm understanding of technology preferred
POSITION SUMMARY: The VEX Robotics Coach works with students to develop their problem-solving skills. This will be done through practices/meetings with participants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide leadership that promotes personal growth, confidence, and in a manner that is equitable for all participants
Responsible for the development of the training components for the activity which will focus on a positive experience for all participants
Monitor the work of all members to ensure their safety
Develop communication procedures with parents, faculty, administration, and the public to share information regarding meeting times, projects and accomplishments of individuals and the group as appropriate
Set the group's meeting schedule; will also work individually with students throughout the week (this may include meeting before, during and after the school day)
Work with the Activities Assistant to schedule transportation and room(s) as needed
Responsible to set the competition season schedule and submit that schedule to the Activities Office
Submit competition results to the Activities Director after each competition
Develop lettering criteria and submit that policy to the Activities Director for approval
Other duties as assigned
