Role Overview: As the Director of Deposit Operations, you will play a pivotal role in managing and advancing the skills and careers of your team members. This role calls for a strategic leader who can maintain operational excellence, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Development: Lead and develop a skilled team, fostering a growth mindset and nurturing personal and professional development. Hire team members when required. Regularly manage performance through quarterly reviews and frequent one-on-one discussions.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage a range of critical banking operations including transaction processing, fraud review, and regulatory compliance. Oversee daily operations such as check processing and electronic transactions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Training and Development: Proactively seek and implement training opportunities for team members, promoting knowledge expansion and cross-functional skills.
  • Administrative Management: Oversee administrative tasks such as timecard approvals and manage staff attendance and leaves.
  • Process Optimization: Constantly seek to improve processes, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and lead strategic planning in semiannual operations strategy meetings.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, manage audits, and oversee the handling of legal documents and fraud claims.
  • Day to Day Guidance and Oversight: Research and adjustments * Collection drafts * Balance daily check processing, Fed In-clearings, Outgoing cash letters, Incoming/Outgoing Returns, Process exception items, stops, non-post, NSF items, etc. * Fraud suspect item review * Fraud claims - Check, ACH, Wires, Debit Card, Endorsement, etc. * Reg E - Claims, Debit Card & ACH * Legal documents received-Subpoena, Garnishments, Levies, Freezes Bankruptcy, etc. * Audits and examinations - Internal and external * Reports and maintenance review and oversight of maintenance performed by other departments for internal controls * Manage deposit statements and notices to include statement messaging. * Monitor all deposit operations emails and/or cases to ensure SLAs are met and an exceptional service experience. * Review Insider OD Reports and ensure it is cleared that day. * Monitor and maintain log of any director overdrafts. * Monitor daily overdraft clients and ensure they are charged off per our policy/procedures.

Annual Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy and compliance of the Record Retention policy, updating and presenting policy changes to the board annually.
  • Coordinate with third-party processors for End of Year setups, ensuring all tax-related procedures are flawlessly executed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field and/or equivalent training and experience; with at least 5-8 years experience directly related to bank deposit operations and management. Experience with Jack Henry operating platform system required.
