As our next Operations Director, you will lead our Mount Olive, NJ, operations team and site, which is the second largest Fragrance & Beauty compounding site across the global footprint.

You will implement and sustain the most effective operations, covering safety, health and environmental protection, quality and service across manufacturing and the supply chain, through a continuous improvement mindset and culture. You will lead short- and long-term site planning, and establish programs to achieve site goals. You will head the Mount Olive Site Committee and be an important member of the AMERICAS Operations Team. You will report to the Head of Fragrance & Beauty Operations at AMERICAS.

Your main responsibilities will be to lead operational excellence across the main focus areas of Safety, Sustainability, Quality, Service and Cost. You will also build the site's operational strategy, continue the site's maturity journey regarding its continuous improvement roadmap and further develop the site's management of personnel.

An important part will be the responsibility to sponsor and guide the continuous improvement culture, mindset and usage across the entire site, which is an important enabler to achieving our performance results.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure a safe and environmentally responsible working environment
  • Safeguard assets under responsibility
  • Develop the 10-year Road Map for the Site's development and investment plans, together with the annual performance targets and investment budget
  • Sponsor the continuous improvement program, including encouraging the appropriate culture and mindset across the site.
  • Promote safety, quality, service, and cost (including inventory management) to best-in-class levels
  • Support the implementation of supply chain and manufacturing excellence programs, including standard process and equipment adherence, quality assurance, and technical and process solutions.
  • Develop and approve departmental business plans and budgets
  • Collaborate with commercial leads through our Sales & Operations Planning process to ensure aligned strategies for servicing our customers, including encouraging close relationships.
  • Ensure maintenance of assets, together with in-time, in-budget and in-quality implementation of all approved CAPEX projects
  • Inspire and coach others, manage and enrich the talent pool
  • Represent site management in Union and Employees representatives' interactions
  • Be accountable for the safety and health of the workforce
  • Make recommendation to Regional Operations on strategic programs and investment proposals and implement accordingly

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, manufacturing or related.
  • 10 years related experience, of which at least 3 years in an equivalent leadership position
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience in LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies, preferably including job experience leading continuous improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing/supply chain processes with knowledge of chemical or compounding processes, processing, manufacturing systems and supply chain management (in consumer goods industry is of advantage)
  • Understanding of accounting, budgeting, capital justification, and EHS requirements
  • Develop talent and build teams
  • Establish trust and credibility
  • Excellent collaboration within Operations and other departments
  • Experience in labor relations (work council and Unions)
