SUMMARY

The Director, Finance position in the DSV Inventory Management Solutions (IMS) organization is a local CFO role within DSV. The IMS organization includes entities in US, Ireland, Israel, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia. As the local CFO for IMS, this position is responsible for developing and executing the financial strategy of the company, working closely with IMS management to support and drive organizational initiatives. As such, it is critical to understand the nature of the business to guide strategy, develop process improvements, and support operations. This role is responsible for the accounting, AP, AR, and treasury functions within IMS, overseeing and optimizing financial reporting, budgeting, cash forecast activities, statutory audits, and tax reporting. This position ensures proper staffing of the IMS finance organization so that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain fiscal awareness and oversight by managing departmental procedures, overseeing the accurate tracking and gathering of financial information, allocation of funds, and preparation of financial statements, such as profit-and-loss statements and balance sheets, including continued enhancement of profit center reporting, actual-to-budget variance analysis, and management reporting
  • Ensure adherence to all DSV compliance and financial manuals as well as local policies and regulations; implement new policies and coordinate or lead training to IMS leadership or finance team, as needed
  • Prepare and distribute month-end reporting deck to Executive and Divisional leadership
  • Monitor and manage key financial performance indicators, such as NWC, DSO, and DPO; develop new and review existing analyses and KPI reports to evaluate expenditures and drive full financial transparency within the business
  • Manage timely responses to inquiries from DSV Group departments regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
  • Develop and guide finance organization strategies; establish functional objectives that align with organizational objectives and direct operational strategies to implement designated solutions; collaborate with other department managers to support ROI calculations, ad hoc analysis, and customer profitability analyses
  • Responsible for annual budget process and forecasting activities
  • Monitor and analyze departmental tasks to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy; promote a continuous improvement model and ensure finance desk procedures are documented and updated regularly
  • Coordinate and produce all required tax documentation as needed, including state and city sales tax reporting
  • Manage cash forecasting activities, including weekly and monthly liquidity reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end financial and supplemental reporting
  • Provide finance leadership on new system implementations and ERP development projects
  • Process complicated entries in Priority (ERP System) and advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Responsible for a clean and timely year-end statutory audit as well as Group audits
  • Adequately staff and manage succession planning for the IMS finance department
  • Conduct yearly employee performance reviews with direct staff
  • Provide training to new and existing staff; assign and review quality of work completed within department
  • Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
  • Give support to other projects when necessary and perform other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise 2-4 managers, 20+ indirect staff

  • Delegate and assign tasks to team members as appropriate
  • Train staff on relevant tasks related to their assigned duties
  • Approve timecards and time-off requests
  • Manage remote workers, as needed

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years prior supervisory experience at a senior level
  • Ten (10) years prior experience in accounting field in progressing roles
  • Cost accounting or inventory management experience

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Computer Skills

  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • ERP System

Language Skills

English (reading, writing and verbal)

Hebrew, Malay, Vietnamese, or Danish a plus (reading, writing and verbal)

Mathematical Skills

Able to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures

Other Skills

  • Strong understanding of established international financial reporting standards
  • Effective oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with the utmost care, security and discretion
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others within and across functions at all levels of the company
  • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously and effectively
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university
  • CMA or CPA License
  • Experience with specific ERP Systems: Priority, SAP
  • Five (5) years of international accounting experience

For this position, the expected base pay is: $166,000 - $249,500 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
