DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is highly responsible administrative and professional work, and you will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective administrative procedures for the day-to-day management of the agency. You will report directly to the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Game Commission and be responsible for directly supervising the bureau directors. You will primarily assist the director in planning, directing, executing, and coordinating all activities of the Commonwealth's wildlife management program; for relieving the director of administrative and supervisory details; and for acting with full responsibility during the director's absence.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Five years of progressively responsible administrative management or staff experience, including three years of experience in directing and managing a major function within a conservation agency and a bachelor's degree in wildlife management, biology, public administration, or a closely related field. Appropriate training and experience may be substituted for these requirements except the three years of experience in directing and managing a major function within a conservation agency.
