Position Summary:

The Primary Set Up/Operator is responsible for maintenance and operation of a variety of CNC machines that ensures accurate and safe production. This position will advocate and support the Corporate Win Strategy.

Essential Functions:

  • Read different measuring devices such as: calibers, hand micrometers and depth gauges.
  • Set up machine to ensure tooling and fixtures are properly installed.
  • Operate machine by loading and unloading material.
  • Perform simple edits in programming machines such as: offsets, speeds, feeds and lengths.
  • Validate all materials to routing numbers provided.
  • Knowledge of all CNC/NC machine centers, lathes, multiple spindle equipment, including mills
  • Perform a variety of quality assessments with different measuring devices and specification guides.
  • Run machine effectively while ensuring and maintaining quality, quantity and safety.
  • Use a wide variety of hand tools.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Machinist experience 2-5 years required.
  • Vocational or technical schooling preferred.
  • Knowledge of mathematics with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed during the week and weekends.
