About Our College and Office: The Andrew Young School houses five academic departments and caters to approximately 2,100 students across various programs. Our Office of Academic Assistance consists of seven dedicated staff members supporting mainly senior students and contributing to graduate student services.

Role Overview: The Academic Advisor II will guide students and departments through academic planning, advisement, and the implementation of university policies related to enrollment and evaluation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on course selection and academic requirements.
  • Maintaining and updating student records.
  • Evaluating transfer credits and performing graduation audits.
  • Assisting with student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Participating in special projects and advising on university regulations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong foundation in advisement theories and practices.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with student database systems like BANNER, DegreeWorks, and Navigate/EAB are preferred.

Salary : $45,000 - $47,000
