Communications & Outreach Manager

Overview:


Provide outreach and professional communications to Olgoonik Corporation shareholders. Develops and manages diverse communications strategies to support shareholder outreach. Additionally, the Outreach and Communications Manager will be responsible for event planning and community outreach programs. Works directly with the Director of Communications & Administration to help design, create, and deliver corporation news and programs that will keep our shareholders engaged with their corporation.

Primary Communications Responsibilities:
  • Manage corporate positioning and messaging strategy for shareholders.
  • Research, develop and manage print and digital communications for shareholders, including, but not limited to newsletters, brochures, annual report contributions, presentation materials, social media initiatives, and websites.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to produce high-quality content for publication.
  • Maintain corporate messaging and branding by adhering to corporate quality standards and guidelines.
  • Work with team to plan and manage community events and community outreach programs.
  • Manage shareholder scholarship and training award programs.
  • Oversee community donation requests.
  • Manage Terminally Ill & Bereavement Assistance Program for shareholders.
  • Oversee shareholder internship and job development programs, as applicable.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Administration team to meet strategic priorities set by leadership.
  • Write, proofread, and edit company documents as needed to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality.
  • Function as internal liaison between shareholders and other departments.
  • Assist with special events and sponsorship opportunity planning.
  • Develop and manage department budget.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:


This position may be responsible for supervising support staff and overseeing the work of temporary contractors.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and knowledge of graphic design.
  • Creative in developing messages, communication systems, and delivery mechanisms for information.
  • Exceptional customer service, outreach, and engagement skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, speak in public, and interact successfully with various audiences from diverse political, geographical, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Self-starter with a can-do, collaborative, team-oriented demeanor.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills.
  • Exercises consistent discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to work with geographically distributed teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat is required.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
  • Proficiency with WordPress is preferred.
