Georgia Pacific is looking for a Safety Coordinator to join our Dudley Plywood team. This role will support the execution of safety compliance in plant operations by coaching, mentoring, training, and engaging employees in the safety processes. This individual should be a team player with the ability to work independently in an efficient and effective manner. The safety coordinator should be dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement and have a sense of urgency to achieve site vision and objectives.

Georgia-Pacific Dudley produces Southern Pine Plywood that is used many aspects of building construction. Dudley is a full product mill that produces 4' x 8' panels in thickness form " to 1" panels, from Rated Sheeting to Specialty products. What You Will Do

  • Support the training and development of site employees and leaders in the areas of safety and health.
  • Work with teams to develop appropriate solutions to mitigate risks and track High Potential Condition entries to completion.
  • Perform administrative tasks that support the progression of the safety department.
  • Participate in key control audits and track findings.
  • Be a visible presence and EHS resource in the field with operations, maintenance, and contract work groups.
  • Assure compliance of Health and Safety programs through observations and routine auditing.
  • Perform annual audiometric tests as required.
  • Build employee relationships and advance safety knowledge and hazard mitigation through coaching, mentoring, training, and employee engagement.
  • Support the safety department by assisting in the execution of safety initiatives and projects
  • Participate in and help lead site safety steering committees.
  • Provide leadership and support to site Compliance System Owners (CSO's) to ensure they have the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill their roles.



Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Two or more years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical process or completion of Georgia-Pacific's ELP program.
  • Experience in creating and delivering hands-on training and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office.



What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in safety, industrial hygiene, or behavioral science
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certifications
  • Experience working in building products
  • Experience onboarding and developing employees
  • Experience in behavior-based safety management
  • Experience in Occupational Safety Management
