We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Manager Carbon Removal Policy with our Climate Policy group based in Washington, DC.


The Manager Carbon Removal Policy will manage policy development and external engagement efforts related to our direct air capture business, primarily focused at the U.S. federal and state levels. The position will also play a key role in support of Oxy's global efforts in carbon management, working in collaboration with our Oxy Low Carbon Ventures, 1PointFive, and Carbon Engineering business units, and Government Relations, Regulatory, Legal, and Public Affairs groups.


Essential Job Responsibilities:
* Policy development and advocacy for carbon removal at U.S. federal and state levels
* Proactively monitor, analyze, and develop proposed policies, regulations, and legislation, and assess potential impacts.
* Build and expand relationships with external stakeholders including NGOs, industry, labor, legislative and executive government.
* Represent Oxy in trade association and stakeholder groups, and at external meetings and conferences.
* Develop and execute strategies for policy advocacy at the federal and state levels.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Policy, or relevant field.
* Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry or policy experience.
* Experience in carbon removal, carbon capture, aviation, or related energy and climate policy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully work collaboratively in teams and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute strategic initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Salary Range: Discretionary Bonus
$126,000- $216,000 0-50%

*Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements may receive consideration for higher-level role given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
