Wieland is hiring a Procurement Lead. The Procurement Lead will oversee a team of buyers for both on-going operations and capital investment projects at multiple sites. This person will lead the team remotely and support the global procurement organization. The support will be provided through interaction and coordination with members of the local, and regional levels within Global Procurement supporting operations, engineering, legal and other teams. This role is located in East Alton, IL and will be a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

Procurement Lead Responsibilities:

    Provide leadership to the Global Procurement team within the designated area.
  • Provide procurement support to WNA operations.
  • Provide procurement support to WNA projects.
  • Enforce Global Procurement policies and procedures.
  • Participate in site meetings and support location lead team.
  • Develop and implement strategies for managing local suppliers.
  • Develop intimate knowledge of the needs of the facilities and procurement customers.
  • Provide goals, updates, and results as requested.
  • Develop and implement Operational Buyer efficiency improvements.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.

Procurement Lead Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or 10 years minimum procurement experience preferred, supply chain, operations, engineering, manufacturing acceptable.
  • 3-5 years' experience leading and managing a team.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and communicate simple solutions to complex issues.
  • Strong data analytics skills to understand and streamline procurement activities.
  • Knowledge of the products procured and the supplier base, as well as the processes.
  • Procurement tracking and renegotiations require advocacy with other divisions and suppliers for varying objectives.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, SAP, and related systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written throughout the organization and suppliers.
  • Willing to Travel 25% of the time.
