Position Summary: (Describe the accountabilities of this position in no more than 2 paragraphs)

Under direction of the Head of General Procurement, the Project Buyer's responsible for maintaining full visibility of the required contractual data, spend data, and schedule of on-going tendering projects to support the activities of General Procurement in North Americas.. This role includes supporting Sr/Catagory Buyers who are managing Multi Functional teams (MFT's), drum beating the various tendering project schedules, and assuring visibility and escalation of potential risks to achieving schedule and savings targets. The Project Buyer will also help facilitate the transition from tendering projects into operational ordering with the Buyers and Internal Customers.

The Project Buyer will also be responsible for the acquisition of goods and/or services. They will follow and model Airbus approach on deliveries and contractual terms and conditions.

Essential Functions (Primary Responsibilities - Summarise, as briefly as possible, the most important activities/responsibilities (5 to 7) the jobholder has to fulfil):

  • Facilitate general procurement transactions to fill business needs and provide internal customers with goods and services in compliance with the General Procurement procedures and guidelines and with the respective commodity strategies and borderlines defined by the management organisation to the customers' complete satisfaction.

  • Ensure full compliance of contract storage & data availability in the applicable tools (eProc, Click & Source & Click n Buy) for Senior Buyers to prepare for MFT's much more efficiently and Buyers to align operational ordering with contract scope

  • Preparation of spend data analysis available for preparation of tendering projects, contract amendment negotiations, and MFT preparation

  • Perform "Local for Local" procurement activities in alignment with the MFT's strategy, based on GP terms and regulations.

  • Deliver on initiatives contributing to Airbus Group's Savings Programs using the levers of requirement harmonisation/standardisation, challenge of the specifications, volume aggregation and control of demand.

  • Develop a collaborative relationship with the various functions to understand and incorporate quality feedback into contact and negotiations with suppliers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead & support development and implementation of general procurement techniques and guidelines (e-catalogs/e-brochures, etc.) and other site projects where General Procurement will be heavily involved.

  • Maintain cooperative relationships and engage with them in strategic and transactional activities to improve vendor relationships and increase customer satisfaction.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements (Skills needed):

  • Five or more years of procurement experience with an increasingly higher level of authority and accountability. Involvement in some fashion with the procurement organisation may be able to be considered "years of experience" on a case-by-case basis.

  • Project management skills.

  • Knowledge of additional functions including: finance, operations, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness as a participant and leader on a work-focused team.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing organisation or a similar quality-focused manufacturing organisation is highly desirable.

Education/Special Qualifications (schooling, certifications):

  • A Bachelors' degree in Business or Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Project Management, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Certifications are desirable

  • Fluency in English sufficient to fully engage in negotiations. Fluency in French, German or Spanish is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat and kneel occasionally mainly to replace or retrieve items from low storage.

  • Standing: Able to stand for long periods of time, touring vendor facilities, travelling and similar activities.

  • Travel: Able to travel domestically and internationally sometimes on short notice and sometimes for long periods of time.

  • Vision: Able to operate a computer and create documents; make presentations in small and large groups and observe items, processes, storage areas, delivery systems, etc.

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Able to walk as needed sometimes for extended periods of time and distance for travel; touring vendor premises, etc.
