DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will gain the knowledge and experience necessary to independently make decisions that will facilitate the progress of the construction project and ensure proper administration of the construction contract. These decisions encompass various aspects such as interpreting and enforcing environmental permits, construction plans, specifications, standards, publications, and manuals. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating estimates and work orders, as well as providing guidance to the contractor when addressing construction field issues. However, certain decisions may require the approval of a supervisor, coworker, or another individual, such as authorizing significant additional work to the original construction contract or approving work outside PENNDOT's right of way.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Vendor controlled schedule
  • Some travel required
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, adoc during the winter season. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
  • This particular position also requires a valid Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
