UDR, Inc. is now hiring an Instructional Media Designer to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Utilizing curriculum development, assessment, digital media learning activities and instructional strategies, this role will deliver scalable high-quality and effective learning experiences for use by UDR associates.

Responsible for interfacing with Senior HR Management in all company-wide and HR-related training programs. Utilizing instructional design theories, practices and methods, position will assist in the planning, analysis, design, development, deployment, and evaluation processes of all learning materials. Creating digital media, including flash animation and interactive projects. Assist in staff development on instructional applications of technologies and instructional methods for furthering associate knowledge and skill development. Facilitate the implementation of instructional innovations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Manage end-to-end training solutions and experiences in alignment with our overall talent strategy, and partner with other teams through a community of practice to deliver on projects impacting HR and/or the Company

2. Design and develop training in all modalities including online training, virtual training, instructor-led, job aides, videos, etc.

3. Conduct front-end analyses including needs assessment, task analysis, content analysis and instructional analysis, to confirm the validity of the business needs.

4. Develop compelling course content to enhance associate retention and support the learning journey of our associates.

5. Lead large-scale learning & development projects for the organization.

6. Assist with the determination of training needs; most effective instructional method, teaching aids; and ensure training environment is conducive to learning.

7. Collaborate with sponsors, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and users to develop and maintain training products and programs. Train and coach subject matter experts in the use of learning technologies.

8. Apply and modify various instructional design models and instructional system components to develop thorough instructional and learning systems and environments, which will drive consistency and quality in all performance and learning for the Company.

9. Project manages the development and implementation of UDR learning experiences (digital learning, instructor led training, informal, etc.). This includes preparing and delivering project documentation, status reports, and communications with stakeholders

10. Responsible for the continued maintenance and development of enterprise training curriculum to consistently improve and evolve our programs as we grow and scale the business

11. Design PowerPoint materials and other graphic elements to share the story of our vision within ESG, Board Decks and Departmental presentations.

12. Maintain LMS system, including uploading and assigning new learning content, pulling reports, and troubleshooting issues via ticketing system.

13. Explore and evaluate new technologies, materials, and techniques for their applicability to educational uses.

14. Develop tools to review materials and learner performance, and proactively recommend improvements.

15. Assist in staff development on instructional applications of technologies and instructional methods.

16. Lead and coordinate new HR initiatives as identified.

17. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, proof, and implement training materials. Knowledge of current techniques and procedures used in the design, development, and evaluation of instructional programs, methods, materials, and instruments. Knowledge of advanced educational research, evaluation, and statistics. Demonstrated ability to research learning environments, assessment techniques and development principles and applications. Demonstrated ability on alternative and authentic assessment methods and techniques; change processes, organizational development, and system thinking and development. Conduct formative and summative evaluation/procedures and instruments. Ability to write instructional objectives. Develop assessment instruments that measure employee learning. Design and interpret a variety of needs analysis. Implement research and evaluation methodologies. Troubleshoot instructional and learning problems in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet critical deadlines. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Polished interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, exercise sound judgment, and clearly communicate findings and advice. Ability to quickly develop strong affiliate and internal working relationships. Ability to effectively present information to top management and associates. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Performs duties that require strong comprehension, analytical, research, composition, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires mobility sufficient to travel. Some bending, stooping, and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field, required.

2. Minimum of eight plus years' proven experience in analysis, instructional design, development, implementation, and delivery of performance support and learning.

3. A strong portfolio of eLearning, virtual, and instructor-led training work that demonstrates mastery as an instructional designer

4. Solid understanding and knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.

5. Minimum of five to seven years' relevant experience with Learning Management Systems.

6. Visual design skills such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, and ability to storyboard.

7. Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audit scripts/video scripts.

8. HTML and Flash programming knowledge required.

9. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.

Salary Range:
* $103,500.00/yr. - $130,500.00/yr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:
* Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
