Job Description

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of direct experience supporting the United States Marine Corps' (USMC) communications and network infrastructure
  • Operational knowledge of USMC communications systems and network infrastructure
  • Technical expertise with USMC communications systems and network infrastructure
  • Proficient in explaining network diagrams, communication architectures, and system interconnect diagrams
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts and technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use computer software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Outstanding organizational skills, team-oriented mindset, and ability to work successfully in fast-paced, diverse, and in virtual team environments
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Travel could be 10%

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge of Marine Corps C5ISRT systems and networks
  • Strong understanding of the systems and processes used by the Marine Corps for communication and dataflow
  • Strong knowledge of the technology and equipment used by Marines in the field, as well as the procedures and protocols they follow
  • Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communications to explain the communication and network infrastructure requirements from a MEF level down
  • Analytical, computer, leadership, and problem solving skills

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as Technical Advisor on communications systems and network infrastructure with extensive technical analysis of various current technologies
  • Provides on-site analysis and technical expertise, for management and/or the customer, involving the applications of key systems
  • Works directly with the customer and performs as a task lead on assignments of moderate to complex scope
  • Develops and documents Marine Corps C5ISRT network
  • Analyzes network performance to identify bottlenecks and identify peak throughput and spectrum needs to ascertain network sufficiency, capability shortfalls, and gaps
  • Provides recommendations for gap mitigation strategies; recommendations must address platforms, systems, or techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTPs)
  • Interprets technical requirements, identifies solutions, develops technical content,
    system configuration/troubleshooting, and provides day-to-day technical support/guidance as required
  • Performs regular communication with U.S. Marine Forces Units, Government Customers, Contractors, and other stakeholders to discuss statuses, solve problems, exchange information and to maintain productivity and progressive communication
