Job Summary:

The Program Manager, 340B acts as a liaison between the 340B Team, pharmacy leadership, and leadership throughout Mary Washington Healthcare impacted by the 340B program. The incumbent in this role will ensure consistency in operational models across the health system and maintain 340B Program integrity and compliance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the 340B Team in day-to-day activities, aggregating, and interpreting data, and presenting overall status and metric updates to the Mary Washington Hospital Pharmacy Leadership team.
  • Oversees compliance activities associated with the 340B Program. Provides regular reporting on compliance metrics to pharmacy leadership.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with MWHC leaders, departments, external vendors, pharmacy wholesalers, Pharmacy Benefits Manager, and other parties as needed.
  • Communicates with stakeholders to ensure that processes remain efficient, addresses any problems or suggestions for improvement.
  • Monitors financial performance of the 340B Program and reports financial outcomes versus budgeted goals.
  • Monitors government regulations, program requirements, and trends. Implements operational processes to ensure 340B Program compliance and resolves any compliance related issues as needed.
  • Develops and maintains system and individual covered entity policies and procedures related to participation in the 340B Program.
  • Participates in the analysis and interpretation of 340B pricing trends and new legislation and translates this to forecast drug expenditures.
  • Hires, develops, coaches, disciplines, and completes performance evaluations for Associates on the 340B Team.
  • Assists with budget planning process, including operating and capital budgets.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for the covered entity in the event of an audit by a manufacturer or HRSA.
  • Assesses opportunities for cost savings and system improvements to yield higher compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in accounting, finance, information technology, business or healthcare field, required.
  • Minimum of one year management experience with operations in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of the 340B program regulatory and compliance procedures, as well as program issues, trends, and challenges.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practices and knowledge of 340B program
  • Experience with analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Experience with contract negotiations.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large scale (region-wide), complex and significant redesign, reorganization, performance improvement and change management efforts.

Preferred:

  • CPhT or other professional degree or certification.
  • Experience with 340B splitting software implementation and maintenance.
