This is a full-time, direct-hire, salaried position that will work a hybrid schedule (three days a week) from our offices in either Chicago, IL or Muscatine, IA. Who you are:
To work in the Chicago, IL office, you must be a Sr. Power BI Data Analyst with 6+ years of experienceworking in Power BI to provide analytical insights and reporting in an enterprise environment. You have hands-on experience writing complex DAX queries to perform sophisticated calculations & aggregations and to extract other valuable insights from raw data. You have a solid understanding of how vast data sets are layered and transformed and can partner with the data engineering team to design an environment that supports fast, robust reporting and analytics.
To work in the Muscatine, IA office, you must be a Data Analyst with at least 3+ years of experience working in Power BI or a similar tool to provide analytical insights and reporting in an enterprise environment. You have experience designing new dashboards in Power BI in addition to supporting and optimizing existing dashboards. You have solid experience working with data in a platform such as Excel and some experience with DAX queries. You also have a basic understanding of data architecture and data engineering as well as a willingness to continue and grow in that area.
What You Will Do:
  • Participate in the design and engineering of a robust, multi-layered data environment that draws from disparate sources to support complex analysis through standardized reports and dashboards.
  • Participate in the design and engineering of robust, complex shared datasets to support reporting and analysis to different areas of the business without the need for frequent re-engineering and ad hoc engineering work.
  • Work with business units to understand their objectives and then translate those needs into deliverables in the form of dashboards and reports; partner with the data engineering team to design solutions within the capabilities of our data environment.
  • Provide business units with descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analysis on a regular cadence as well as upon request; identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets.
  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources.
  • Design scalable and efficient data models in Power BI, leveraging DAX to create sophisticated calculations and aggregations.
  • Demonstrate hands-on expertise in writing complex DAX queries to extract valuable insights from raw data.
  • Optimize Power BI performance by fine-tuning DAX queries, data models, and report designs.
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies; develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.
  • Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources and building scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets.
  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting an appropriate combination of methods and tools within the defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution.
What You Have
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in visualization, reporting and data analytics utilizing Power BI in an enterprise environment.
  • A proven track record of developing data structures and data preparation workflows.
  • Experience developing ETL processes for business intelligence applications.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiarity with Linux and AWS/Azure, Snowflake, and Oracle.
