Overview

CAES is seeking a Cost Analyst to be based in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating across functional organizations (Operations, Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, Business Development); analyzing and communicating business performance for key financial metrics such as orders, sales, profit and cash; manpower/staffing plans and managing department overhead spending. Stakeholders would include Functional Leaders, Program Managers, Product Line Directors, Finance Colleagues and Site Vice President.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking and analyzing functional budgets as well as routinely meeting with budget owners to assist with monthly departmental forecasting
  • Support the development of the annual Forward Pricing Rate Proposal (FPRP) and timely submission to the US Government
  • Support monthly activities including:
    • Updating revenue forecast and reviewing actual costs and estimates at completion
    • Support the development of the annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range strategic plan (LRSP)
    • Provide audit support to government (DCAA, DCMA), internal and external financial audits
    • Identifying and implementing best practices
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics
  • Two (2) years progressive experience as a Program Control Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis, or related areas of Finance and Accounting
  • Aerospace and Defense Industry experience

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Five (5+) years progressive experience as a Program Control Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis, or related areas of Finance and Accounting
  • Experience includes budgets and schedules for government contracts, government cost control, financial and variance analyses and program coordination
  • Uses financial modeling analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining data integrity and accuracy
  • Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Oracle SmartView
  • Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to address new initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to package data into a format suitable for executive level consumption
  • Budgeting and variance analysis
  • Team player; collaborative
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, creative, and innovative and use critical and strategic thinking
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SAP or related ERP, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), and using Hyperion based systems

Salary Range: $71,000 - $115,000 annually (San Diego, CA).

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
