JOB SUMMARY: As the Senior Staff Accountant, you will be analyzing and recording financial data and providing financial information to management. You’ll also be preparing journal entries and assisting with the preparation of financial reporting requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Documenting and preparing financial account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Summarizing the current financial status by collecting information
Preparing financial and operational schedules to support the Accounting Manager in monthly and year-end closing responsibilities
Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures for the Accounting Manager’s consideration
Reconciling ledger accounts
Reviewing data integrity reports and correcting posting issues
Preparing recurring and manual general ledger entries through the analysis of data and determination of appropriate account balances
Supporting project accounting by conducting reviews of job activity and postings to ensure the integrity of the revenue recognition cycle
Supporting the General Accountant and AP processes by answering questions and providing guidance related to sales and use tax liability determination
Assisting the Accounting Manager with any financial audits
Assisting with the preparation of support schedules, data preparation, and other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager
Identifying trends and determining system improvements and implementing change; Promoting the Lean Management System (LMS)
Protecting organization value by keeping information confidential
Other general accounting or special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Corporate Controller, or CFO
EXPERIENCE: Minimum Education Requirement: 2-year accounting degree; prefer BA - Accounting Experience: 3-5 year accounting experience
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Must have proficient skills in the use of computer programs and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to learn and apply new technologies to job responsibilities
Must be a good team player with strong communication skills
Must be detail-oriented, and have effective time management skills
