Supervisor EVS + point of contact for Secruity and Facilities

Assists the Environmental Services Manager to supervise the EVS Program, EVS Leads and the EVS Technicians for UnityPoint- Trinity to achieve specific operational, quality, safety, infection control, service and financial goals while providing a safe and clean environment for visitors, patients, physicians and staff. Assists with the hiring, termination, daily staffing, performance management and staff development while building positive customer relationships and utilizing open communication. Responsible for conducting quality audits with customers and developing improvement strategies for increasing customer satisfaction. Responds to all emergencies, both internal and external, while working in collaboration and cooperation with the Environmental Services Manager at UnityPoint- Trinity. Assumes the main role in any UnityPoint- Trinity Environmental Services Department matter and/or situation in the absence of the Environmental Services Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Applies all legal, ethical, and compliance related regulations to each situation ensuring UnityPoint - Trinity policy and procedures are carried out in accordance with above standards.
  • Manages time and prioritizes workload to meet the needs of the organization ensuring patient, team members, and visitors safety is a top priority.
  • Oversees and manages daily operations of all Environmental Services
  • Assists in evaluating, monitoring and action planning to ensure departmental budget compliance
  • Manages and monitors the Environmental Services Department payroll/timekeeper program
  • Assists in the management and operation of the linen department.
  • Assists in Employee Relations.
  • Ensure structured training, in-service classes, coaching and mentoring support system to EVS Technicians by communicating performance expectations, UnityPoint Health - Trinity goals and personal objectives for staff growth and to achieve compliance with all Regulatory Agencies.
  • Maintains required documentation of all training, education, and certifications.
  • Coordinates with all levels of leadership to assist, respond to, and support all service lines with items or issues relating to Environmental Services.
  • Oversee internal investigations operations and assist with high level incidents as deemed appropriate by Department Manager.
  • Assists the Environmental Services Manager with Infection Control and Safety monitoring activities.
  • Assists in Infection Control and Safety audits and produce audit reports and follow up any actions.


Qualifications

Education:

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak fluent English.

Experience:

  • Computer knowledge and typing skills required.

  • Environmental Services or medical background preferred.
  • Customer service or public relations experience preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
