Pharmacy Technician II

Moline, IL

Full-Time + Benefits

1st/ 2nd Shift (32 hours/ week) + Alternating Weekends

Under the immediate supervision of the Manager of Pharmacy Inpatient Operations and Registered Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician II will assist registered pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical services to patients within the medical center including but not limited to: delivery of medications, stocking of automated dispensing cabinets, preparation of sterile products, responding to nursing messages, performing inventory management activities, performing unit inspections, and answering phones. Pharmacy technicians are expected to demonstrate efficient time management, organization of work, and prioritization.

Responsibilities

Medication Preparation

  • Receive medications into stock.
  • Performs non-sterile compounding per regulations and completes required documentation.
  • Performs sterile compounding per regulations and completes required documentation.
  • Prepare medication orders for pharmacist verification.

Medication Distribution

  • Deliver and stock medications throughout the hospital.

Departmental Support

  • Assess medication storage areas, identifying and replacing outdated and unusable medications.
  • Collect data, conduct quality monitors and complete documentation.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Experience:

  • Possesses proficient sterile compounding skills.

License/Certification:

  • Pharmacy Technician license or eligible licensure in both Illinois and Iowa.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Efficient time management and prioritization of work.
  • Demonstrates accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.
