OverviewThe Microsoft Azure Compute Fundamentals Program Management team drives horizontal customer experiences across Azure Compute Services. We are focused on producing modern solutions in areas of performance, reliability, speeds and feeds, and other areas resulting in the platform providing a dependable environment for Mission Critical applications to run on Azure. We combine a globe-scale platform big-data foundation with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning techniques, distributed systems solutions, and deep system acumen to drive innovation that allows us to define and operate our datacenters beyond what was possible in the past with traditional techniques. We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to drive cross-team development, as well as work across teams spanning the breadth of Azure. ResponsibilitiesThis role requires technical experience and depth with complex projects, project management across cross-functional stakeholders, as well as strategic thinking and problem solving. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will be commited to the systems software and infrastructure software space, possess technical and analytical skills, cross-group collaboration skills, and a dedication for supporting customers.Identify complex opportunities and gaps in the implementation of multiple feature areas across divisional boundaries. Act as a subject matter expert in conducting competitive analyses, and examining customer and technology-related industry trends. Work with Engineering to design architecture and integrated customer solutions. Review design documents and architecture proposals, and may provide approvals. Work with architects and technical partners to develop future proof architecture.Define success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs], Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]) of multiple feature areas across divisional boundaries. Track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project schedules for multiple feature areas across divisional boundaries. Drive accountability with stakeholders for following the established schedule and processes. Manage dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios.Generate energy and alignment across teams with meetings, along with clear customer and program goals.Deeply understand the return on investment on the features being developed. Prepare and deliver high quality presentations and reviews to leadership and internal stakeholders.Create win-win engagements with partners across Azure and Microsoft to drive customer value.
