Job Overview
The Digital Solutions and Enterprise Strategy (DSES) intern will have the opportunity to help continue to advance Komatsu's efforts in the digital space. The intern will have the opportunity to be involved in Komatsu's SmartConstruction, e-commerce, IoT, technical support, quality reporting and the contract business. This role will be exposed to a variety of Komatsu's departments, distributors and internal-facing systems within our business in North America.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Learn about the Komatsu business. Understand how we partner with our distributors and how we service our customers. Learn and engage with our systems, solutions and industry applications.
- Learn about our proprietary technology and what we are doing to continue to be an innovative and industry leading organization.
- Collaborate with both internal and external partners such as IT, software vendors/developers, other Komatsu departments and subsidiaries and our parent company located in Japan, Komatsu Limited.
- Support the DSES team with accurate reports, data and metrics. Understand the extent to which our systems are being used and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
- Interns will be responsible to complete DSES tasks, assignment and projects with important deadlines.
- Interns will be responsible for completing an Internship Project. Interns will own the project from beginning to end and present to Komatsu C-suite Executives and leaders at the end of the internship.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Must be at least in Junior standing at an accredited college/university. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0+ and be able to apply their academic background to real business world experiences.
- Experience: Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred.
- Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.
- PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel (Pivot Tables), Power Point (slide presentations) and other summary and analysis tools. Must demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Travel: Some travel may be required.
